Finishing is, as the name implies, the end of the job. Much care goes into the file prep, more care goes into the printing step, laminating is a very delicate procedure, and finally, mounting the completed package to a chosen baseboard with its final trimming and inspection brings us to the 'finishing' step. Here is where we put on the finishing touch; the hanging blocks are mounted to the back of the print, hanging wires are installed, and a protective cover, corner protectors, and wrapper are applied to keep the product safe thru delivery.

Finishing doesn't always start at the end of the job, however, since it is important to consider all of the individual steps leading to that final end. While a print is in production, the board that it will be mounted to is cut, sanded, vinyl edge applied, and mounting adhesive put on. The back of the board is measured and marked for the placement of the hanging blocks. In some instances finishing involves special consideration for hanging a mounted print from a ceiling, and fixtures appropriate to that end must be applied to the product, or the product may be placed on an easel, and must have some means of securing it to prevent falling, in which case two strips of velcro are positioned across the back to keep it in place on the easel.

Finishing also is described as the quality of all the preceeding steps being maintained with care and accuracy through the final packaging step.

Deccor Edging is a black vinyl heat set product that can be applied to Gator board 1/2", 3/4", 1". Offering a neat and finely finished look to the complete project, it covers the dark gray foam that can be seen on the edge of the board. Deccor Edge is applied before the adhesive so that no edge will be seen after the print is mounted.

Pro Edge can be applied to 3/16" and 1/2" gator, has a metal frame look, and comes in 6 different colors.

Hanging Blocks are 3/4" thick cut strips of wood glued to the back of your mounted print, keeping the print away from the wall, and allowing for a soft drop shadow which apparently gives your finished product a 3 dimensional appearance. Long horizontal mounts will possibly have two sets of hanging blocks in order to keep your print level at all times.

Cleats are recommended fFor larger, heavier mounts. The cleat comes in two pieces, one glued to your mount, the other mounted to your wall with two screws, then place your mount over the wall segment and your hanging is complete.

Velcro can be applied to nearly any of the mounting products we use for permanent or temporary use.

Rounded corners can be applied to many of the mounting products we use.

Spyder Feet will support 1/2" or 3/16" Gator Board or 3/16" Fomecore in a free standing application.

Ceiling Mount:When suspending a mounted print from a ceiling, a piece of wood is fixed to the top of the mounted print from which two eye hooks are provided to allow for fish line, wire or string to be used for hanging. Three sided signs can be created and hung from ceiling fixtures for visibility from all sides.

E Z Reel is a special fixture for hanging signage from dropped ceiling supports. This fixture permits easy swapping of signage without the need for ladders.
